Italy best ally in EU if Meloni remains PM says Trump

(ANSA) – ROME, APR 17 – Italy is and will remain the United States' best ally in the EU if Premier Giorgia Meloni remains in charge, President Donald Trump said after talks with her at the White House Thursday.
"Italy can be the best ally of the United States if Meloni remains prime minister", he said.
"She is a fantastic person and she is doing a great job and our relationship is great. Italy is one of our closest allies not only in Europe. We have many Italians in this country and they like Trump", added the president. (ANSA).
